Into Archive in Who What Wear’s 20 Years of Iconic Runway Fashion
Twenty years of runway history, revisited through the pieces that continue to define fashion.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Who What Wear revisited some of the most iconic runway collections of the past two decades in 20 Years of Iconic Runway Fashion, Revisited, an editorial by Lauren Eggertsen published on October 14, 2026.

Featuring landmark collections from houses including Balenciaga, Prada, Celine, and Gucci, the retrospective explores the runway moments that have left a lasting mark on fashion. Among them is Marc Jacobs’s Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 collection, known for its bold Damier checkerboard print and theatrical runway presentation.
For the editorial shoot, Into Archive sourced two pieces from the collection: the Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs SS 2013 Runway White and Yellow Check Print Shift Dress and the Louis Vuitton 2013 Yellow and White Leather D'Orsay Bow Pointed Toe Pumps.
The matching white and yellow checks capture the collection’s distinctive approach to pattern and coordinated dressing. When Marc Jacobs reimagined Louis Vuitton’s signature Damier motif for ready-to-wear, the result was a collection that extended the house’s iconic luggage pattern into a defining fashion statement. More than a decade later, these pieces remain a compelling example of how archival runway designs continue to influence contemporary styling.
The feature celebrates what makes archival fashion worth revisiting: pieces that preserve a moment in a designer’s creative history while remaining relevant long after their original debut.
We’re pleased to have Into Archive contribute to Who What Wear’s retrospective on two decades of iconic runway fashion.
